Who you are dealing with
This site is operated by TrazTech Inc., incorporated in Ontario, at 145 1/2 Church Street, Unit 5 Office 876, Toronto, Ontario, M5B 1Y4. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean TrazTech Inc., and "you" means anyone using the site.
This is information, not advice
Everything on this site is general information about compliance frameworks, Canadian privacy law and security testing. It is not legal advice, it is not an audit opinion, and it is not a substitute for advice about your own situation from someone who knows it. Statutes change and our reading of them can be wrong. Prices are ranges observed in the Canadian market and are not quotes.
Do not act on anything here without checking it against your own facts. If a contract, a regulator or your counsel says something different from this site, they are right and we are not.
The directory
The directory lists security and compliance firms operating in Canada. Some listings were created by us from publicly available information and have not been claimed by the firm they describe. Those are marked as unclaimed, and the firm has had no involvement in what the listing says.
Being listed is not an endorsement. We do not verify the competence, the insurance, the accreditation or the conduct of firms in the free tier, and a listing is not a recommendation that you engage them. Where a firm carries a Verified badge, that means we have carried out the checks described on the relevant page at the time stated, and nothing more. It is not a guarantee of the quality of any work they do for you.
Any engagement you enter into with a firm found through this site is between you and that firm. We are not a party to it, we take no commission on it unless separately disclosed, and we have no liability for it.
If you represent a listed firm and want the listing corrected or removed, email [email protected] and we will do it without argument.
Quote matching
If you submit a quote request, we share it with firms whose services match what you asked for, as described in the privacy policy. Read that before you submit the form. More than one firm may contact you.
TrazTech Inc. operates this site and is also a security and compliance practice. We may respond to your request ourselves. We state this plainly because a directory operated by a participant in the market it lists is a conflict of interest, and you should weigh what you read here accordingly.
We do not guarantee that any firm will respond to your request, that you will receive any particular number of responses, or that any quote you receive will be accurate or available.
Affiliate links
Some links to compliance platforms and other products are affiliate links, which means we may be paid if you sign up through them. Pages carrying such links say so. Payment does not change what we write. Where we think a product is not worth buying, we say that, and we would rather lose the commission than the reader.
Calculators and assessments
The calculators and assessments produce estimates from the answers you give. They are not quotes, not valuations, and not an assessment of whether you comply with anything. Two companies with identical answers can face very different costs. Treat the output as a starting range for a conversation.
Acceptable use
Do not scrape the directory in bulk, submit false quote requests, use the forms to send unsolicited commercial messages to listed firms, attempt to access parts of the site you are not authorized to reach, or interfere with its operation. We may block access for any of these.
Our content
The writing, tables and tools on this site belong to TrazTech Inc. You may quote from them with attribution and a link. You may not republish pages in bulk or use them to train a model for resale. Firm names, logos and trade marks belong to their owners and appear here to identify them.
Limits on our liability
The site is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it is accurate, current, or available without interruption.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of this site or from any engagement with a firm you found through it, including lost profit, lost business, lost data, or the cost of a failed audit. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to one hundred Canadian dollars.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes
We may change these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after that means you accept the change.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction, and you and we both submit to them.
